Business publication honors minority entrepreneurs

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Steven Ramirez, CEO of the Bay Area integrated agency Beyond the Arc, has been selected as one of 2016’s “MBEs Who Rock” award winners. Ramirez is one out of twelve minority entrepreneurs honored for their business success and community presence within their industries. The winners will be featured in the Winter 2017 edition of MBE magazine.

As a strong advocate of public higher education, Ramirez has helped launch and expand programs at his alma mater, UC Berkeley, providing minority students with the resources needed to excel. Knowing first-hand the social and economic advantages of higher education, Ramirez is dedicated to giving students of color the access and preparation they need to become valuable contributors to society.

“We are proud to recognize this year’s winners,” says Barbara Oliver, publisher of MBE magazine. “Each one truly embodies what it means to be an MBE Who Rocks.”

Ramirez received the award during the event, hosted by MBE magazine on October 22, 2016. The event was held during the National Minority Supplier Development Conference (NMSD) in Chicago, IL at 1871, a support organization for Chicago’s digital start-up community.

The contest, along with “WBEs Who Rock”, its sister contest that honors women business owners, are held annually in June and October. Submissions for each contest can be made throughout the year. For more information and details, go to www.mbemag.com.
